Registration is NOW OPEN for the Wes Helms Baseball Camp. Before camp begins, there are a few helpful things to know.

STARTING OFF WITH

MY COSTS

The cost is $90 for pre-registration and $100 walk-up on the day of the camp.  Ages 8 years old to senior in high school. All walk-ups will need to sign up at the information table on the day of the camp. We still have spots available for walk-ups on Saturday.

The WHBC is for ages 8 years of age to senior in high school.

The camp is limited to only 200 persons, so reserve your spot now!

All proceeds to benefit local charities.

In the case of inclement weather or adverse field conditions, some or all events may be hosted indoors.

GREAT INSTRUCTION

Every pro player at the Wes Helms Baseball Camp strives to not only teach your child fundamental skills to improve their game, but to also grow your child to understand core values in playing the game.

Hitting Techniqueshelping you aim higher

Strengthen hand-eye coordination, improve directional hitting and refine bunting techniques. This stations will also work to improve at-bat statistics in the way that each hitter watches pitches approaching the plate.

Pitching FundamentalsPerfectly thrown together

Develop the proper mechanics for throwing the ball with increased speed, concision, and control. Players will learn how to place their body most effectively in the set up, wind up, and finally the pitch. Build on your own perfect pitch!

Infield DrillsKeeping you grounded

Learn step-by-step instructional drills focusing on fielding ground balls, turning plays quickly and efficiently, and fielding to your backhand side. Keep an eye on the ball and move quick with the proper technique.

Speed and AgilityCatch us if you can

Learn the fundamentals, skills, and techniques for base running potentially to improve player statistics such as the on-base percentage, stolen base percentage, and a number of runs scored.

Outfield ActionsCatching stars

Gain a better understanding of how to properly catch a fly ball, as well as, balls that bounce off the fence, tricks to making catches more easily, and knowing where to throw the ball infield once it has been caught.

Personal skillsAnd so much more

Honing your baseball skills requires a commitment beyond playing on the field. Take life lessons from the pros who have lived through the highs and lows. Giving you insider knowledge of the game on and off the field.

What to expect

The Wes Helms baseball camp is structured as a learning experience for each individual player. Our camp offers individual attention to players so that they may truly learn and understand all aspects of the game as thoroughly as possible. Our professional instruction and advice blend together to build a sturdy foundation for each athlete so they learn physically and mentally what it takes to potentially become a successful baseball player.

More than a game

The camp strives to push young players to explore their talents and abilities, as well as, leave the camp with some real-life advice that may help them continue in life on the best paths possible. Participants will spend the day visiting a variety of different stations where they will learn the basic mechanics of the game. They will also spend time conversing with the pros on experiences they have encountered in their careers thus far.

Don't forget about

At the Wes Helms Baseball Camp, we want to make sure you are prepared. Each player is welcome to bring their personal equipment. Consisting of a baseball glove, baseball cleats/shoes, baseball bat, and most importantly dress appropriately for the weather. This includes a hat and sunscreen!

Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 1994 and made his MLB debut on Dec. 16th 2002. Wes is a retired MLB 3rd and 1st baseman with 12 yrs as a MLB player. Wes played with the Braves, the Milwaukee Brewers,the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Florida Marlins

Matt was drafted by the Chicago White Sox and made his MLB debut June 17th, 2004. Matt has played with the White Sox, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the LA Dodgers, Chicago Cubs and is currently with the Minnesota Twins again.

Steve Woodard is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played all or part of seven seasons in Major League Baseball, from 1997 until 2003, for the Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox.

Thomas Joseph is a first baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball since 2012. Selected by the Giants in the second round, Joseph was the 55th overall selection, of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft.

Perfomance Coach
Chris played baseball at Long Island University as a catcher and is USA Weightlifting certified and has his masters in coaching and conditioning. Chris is currently a performance coach and coordinator.

Strength and Conditioning Coach
Started with Montreal Expos in 1995-1996 as a minor league athletic trainer. Joined the Phillies as Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in 2012 and was promoted to Major League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in 2014. Originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, Paul and his family reside in Palm Harbor, Florida.

We welcome one of the most famous meteorologists in the state of Alabama, James Spann. James will be our special guest this year for the Wes Helms Baseball Camp. He has a powerful testimony to share with all young and old players.
